Brian Eno Urges Support to Send Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The project seeks to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians during the holidays. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that happened, yes,” he commented. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It has a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Production History and Featured Artists

The track was produced following a solidarity show held in late summer. First conceived to be done as a live recording, the piece was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The notable list of artists contributing to Lullaby includes a selection of well-known figures from the industry. All were part of the benefit event, which successfully generated a significant sum for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a trio of talented individuals. The single showcases a fusion of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the campaign have emphasized that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These proceeds will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an established charity.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a representative said. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was characterized as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of property said to be destroyed or damaged.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is first of all making this cause better known and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is scheduled for release this Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
