Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor stands accused of performing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.

Details of the Serious Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

These allegations come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
