Star Rejects Anti-Vaccine Views Following Lending His Voice To Contentious Covid Feature

The acclaimed actor has lent his vocal talents to a recent film that challenges the legitimacy of immunizations and lauds one-time health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Film's Provocative Basis

Named "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a bestselling book published by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the global outbreak for assertions that the virus was linked to a faulty batch of the influenza shot.

The publication's writing partner, Kent Heckenlively, has also written books with controversial radio host the Infowars host. He wrote online hailing Neeson's role in the film.

A Firm Rebuttal

The team of the actor have issued a comment strongly denying suggestions that he holds anti-vax sentiments.

"Many acknowledge that unethical practices may occur within the drug industry, but that should never be equated to opposition to vaccines," the statement explains. "He is not, and is not, anti-vax. His long work with the global charity underscores his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."

It noted that the performer had no hand in the documentary's editorial content and that inquiries about its content should be directed to the producers.

Central Claims In the Feature

According to the documentary, the voiceover spoken by Neeson includes several controversial claims:

  • It suggests that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "blind obedience" to public institutions.
  • It declares that "medical science has become deeply politicised."
  • Kennedy is interviewed saying, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they just aren't safely tested."
  • It also criticizes stay-at-home orders, claiming they caused mental anguish that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of the immunizations, it mentions a view that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Previous Controversy and Ongoing Disputes

The documentary further cites a 2004 BBC documentary about clinical trials on children, which was later the subject of a formal apology by the corporation for editorial breaches.

In recent weeks, the political figure directed the national health agency to alter its longstanding position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is repeated in the film, even with a recent study from the global health body confirming no connection has been found.

A Previous Statement of Endorsement

Standing in contrast to the film's message, Neeson has in the past shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a Unicef global ambassador.

Two years ago, he described vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," stating that "The conversation about vaccines in recent years has overlooked how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in human history."

The film concludes with Neeson's script saying, "This marks not the finish of our journey. This is the start of a fresh chapter."
