Thousands Left Without Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Weather Systems

Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after intense storm systems swept through the state, generating strong winds reaching 109km/h.

Massive Hailstones and Broad Damage

Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.

The following day was expected to become the wettest day, with ongoing severe weather risk predicted across multiple regions of both areas.

Public health experts warned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
