Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Passed Away in a California Vehicle Accident

The co-creator of Call of Duty, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in Los Angeles, California aged 55.

The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The influential game designer died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a freeway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.

"This represents a heartbreaking loss, and our hearts are with his family and friends, his family, and everyone impacted by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts commented.
